Small batch audio

10 years of trading demos with other bands led a three-piece UK based group to evolve into one of Australia’s finest ‘full band’ duos, similar to the likes of Royal Blood and The White Stripes. A band of literal brothers, Matt and Sam Steedman are Small Batch Audio.

A formidable ‘duo’ who fiercely hold their own against bands with twice the onstage musicians, represent a highly energetic rock-outfit. The music - a combination of dirty rock riffs, bold melodic hooks and song writing crafted for commercial airplay. SBA are both meaty and hard-hitting.

“We are songwriters who have deliberately limited ourselves by what we can achieve live with just a guitar, vocals and drums (and a sample pad)”.

The result? An amps-smokin, finger-bleeding, louder-than-anything else you’ve heard ‘full band’ rock sound.

SBA are a breath of fresh air in the national music scene. Reunited in Fremantle after performing in the UK and Melbourne, the brothers are now in pre-production with upcoming single, Set It. They have promising plans to produce another 4-tracks and release their debut EP in the near future.

The brothers' music has earned them support slots and collaborations with Iggy Pop, The Cruel Sea, Superjesus, Shihad, Grinspoon, Something for Kate, The Hard Ons, The Living End, Hailmary and The Whitlams. Their collective of live shows include Triple J performances, Falls Festival 97/98, Load Festival (SA), 2016 WAMi showcase and numerous radio performances, including RTRFM.

“In our 30 + years in business, we have helped some of Australia’s best known acts become proud Australian exports. SBA are one of the finest musical acts we have had the pleasure of working with and their single “Animal” is one of the best Rock releases to come out of Australia let alone Perth in recent years”.

– Fly By Night Musicians Club (est 1986).

With sketches of over 50 songs ready to be completed, their shared musical history delivers visceral storytelling, memorable melodies and blistering hooks. SBA have already set a solid blueprint in the local scene and are definitely a duo to watch. You’ll be mind-blown by their full throttle, stadium-worthy shows at live venues such as the Rosemount, Mojos, Rodney’s Bait n Tackle, Newport Hotel and Fly By Night Musicians Club.
